This region is a nature lover’s paradise, especially in the spring time, offering excellent conditions for bird-watching while being surrounded by the beauty of fields of flowers and aromatic plants. Orchids and Western Iberian Peonies, in particular, are flowers to look out for.
Starting in Alcoutim on the bank of the Guadiana River, the route crosses the serene countryside of the East Algarve. This section is all about local food, local people and local culture.
