Gran Canaria Walking Festival is the international meeting of hiking in Gran Canaria where lovers of nature and of hiking can come together every year and find out the best places on the island to hike.

This annual hiking event gathers nature lovers from all over the planet and includes transfer service, picnic, guides in several languages, insurance, possibility to participate in raffles, gifts, and tastings of local products, among many other surprises.

In this eight edition, with 6 different routes through the most beautiful natural settings on the island as well as offering the opportunity to watch the starry sky on the astronomical route (night walk). Professional guides will be the managers of entertaining and directing the routes through idyllic places in different languages.


Gran Canaria Walking Festival – a gathering of more than 800 participants of more than 25 nationalities and guarantees a unique experience.

Wednesday, 23rd Oct - The Palm Grove Retreat (10.8km 4-4.30hr)

Starting at the well-known “Pico de la Gorra” the route then goes downhill to  “Santa Lucía de Tirajana”.

Thursday, 24th Oct - In the Guardian´s Shade (10km 3.30-4hrs)

Starting in “Barrio de San Pedro” after an inital small climb the rest of the itinerary is mostly downhill. Spectacular rock formations and views make this a great opportunity to get some wonderful pictures.

Friday, 25th Oct - The Soul of the Forest (13.4km, 4.30hrs)

This walk goes through the “Parque Rural de Doramas” with its fairy tale likeness.

Saturday, 26th Oct - The Magic of the Pine Forest (9.2kms, 3hrs)

On this route, you will go through the highest municipality of Gran Canaria: “La Vega de San Mateo” with its sweeping panoramic views of the island.

Saturday Night, 26th Oct - A Walk In The Clouds (3km, 3hrs)

An astronomical delight where you get to witness the island bathed in moonlight with a backdrop of a starry night sky.

Departure South 19:00 – Time back: 1:00h approx

Sunday, 27th Oct - Dragon Valley (9.8kms, 4.30/5hrs)

After an initial climb the route then is downhill to end in the sea town of Villa de Agaete.
